The impact was immediate and the impression long lasting - not just on our palates, but on our tummies, too. What struck us next was just how simple and affordable fermentation can be to do yourself. With nothing more than a recycled jar and a handful of ingredients (think veg, salt, and not much else!), you can ferment almost anything at home. This incredible source of nutrients is so easily accessible without having to spend much at all. What’s more rebellious than taking your gut health into your own hands?

As food industry professionals, we saw an opportunity to use our skills to decode the over-complication surrounding fermentation online. We’ve stripped it back to its core - no unnecessary science, no expensive gadgets, just a straightforward method that works on repeat.
